Director of Sarajevo International Airport attended ACI EUROPE conference in Paris

Director of Sarajevo International Airport, Mr Armin Kajmaković, attended the 27th annual Assembly of Airports Council International – ACI EUROPE, the association of European airports, where he had meetings with representatives of several European airports, as well as with ACI EUROPE general manager, Mr Olivier Jankovec.
ACI EUROPE represents interests of more than 500 airports from 45 European countries that have over 90% share in commercial air traffic in Europe. At the conference was emphasized that in 2016 European airports for the first time provided ground handling services to more than 2 billion passengers, after three years of sustainable growth of over 5%. Air traffic in Europe is expected to increase twofold till 2030.
During the meeting with the director Jankovec, Mr Kajmaković stressed that the air traffic at Sarajevo Airport will continue to grow in the current year for 8% a year, what is above European average. He also informed Mr Jankovec about ambitious infrastructural projects, and especially about activities regarding construction of a new passenger Terminal, aimed at further extending of Sarajevo International Airport capacities and building up its leadership at BiH market.
Director Kajmaković added that Bosnia and Herzegovina had already adjusted relevant segments of its air traffic legislation with EU laws, pointing out to a significant potential of our market, especially in the field of tourism. It was said that almost every economy branch in our country and especially in a wider Sarajevo region, benefits from over 900.000 passengers who will be processed at Sarajevo Airport. They stay at hotels, use may other services, shop and improve economic relations and cooperation.
By restoring its membership in this association, Sarajevo International Airport je re-established its goals, what means to take an active participation in aviation related activities and thus become one of the leading airports in the region, identifiable by high level of its services, safety and regularity in air transport, as well as a reputable partner to airlines and other users of airport services.
